Maria de Fatima Pereira da Silva is the EU Public Relations Officer for CADROSA.

Fatima has a background in Psychology, focusing on Pedagogy, with an expertise is in the area of Education and Training. She has also specialised in Public Management for Road Safety. Fatima is acknowledged by the Portuguese Psychological Association as an associate of the Labour, Social and Organisational Psychology branch. She has been a Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra-Higher Education School for eighteen years. Fatima is also an international consultant on traffic psychology and is a member and representative in a diversity of organisations such as ICADTS.

Fatima’s research  on drugs and alcohol has led to initiatives raising awareness of the road safety concerns with university students and company workers. Furthermore, she has developed rehabilitation measures relating to driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Fatima studies human factors in the work context with more than 20 years experience in the psychological assessment of drivers. Her research also relates to driver training and fitness to drive. Fatima’s other research interests include mental workload, risk factors for young drivers, and new technologies for vehicles and how this is associated with drug/alcohol use while driving.
